Wah corrected my backhand one more time today: reach out<\/a>, hit deep.\u00a0\u00a0Simon’s been saying this too.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Don’t you feel tired?\u00a0 Hitting so hard but the balls don’t go far, landing\u00a0short.. .. ”\u00a0 Simon’s been saying this too.\u00a0 My balls land around the service line.\u00a0 They need to be near the baseline to qualify as a\u00a0modestly decent shot, don’t even dream lethal.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He said there are four points to connect as one hits a backhand.\u00a0 The first is the starting point, second is the mid way prior to the contact, third the actual contact and the last is follow through.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Most people would\u00a0omit the second point,\u00a0they\u00a0don’t reach out far enough.\u00a0 Think curve of physics .. ”\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We practiced a while, he commented, “see you haven’t net a single one.”\u00a0 Reach out on the third point makes the ball travels high and ends up near the baseline, without too much hard hitting.\u00a0\u00a0This is the right way.\u00a0 Obviuosly I’ve been doing it wrong.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For some reason, Wah seems can get the point across clearly.\u00a0 When he plays, there is a bit\u00a0of delibrate pause in every\u00a0shot right before the contact and he looks very relaxed.\u00a0 He’s been saying, ‘you have plenty time to set up a shot ..’\u00a0 I never thought of that.\u00a0 Just rush to hit and rush to the net (to claim that candy)!<\/p>\n
Simon and I won both sets agianst him and Irene.\u00a0 Yes, Irene’s ok and been playing!!!\u00a0 – Welcome back GIRL!!!\u00a0 Her forehand is lethal, so you know she’s back.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
