The pool isn’t busy at all. Today is the first time that I swam with another person in the lane for about 20 laps which is long. One other time I got into the lane with a person already in there but after a lap he left.
There is a girl by the entrance who counts us. Yesterday was 93 (because of the little summer campers) and today I’m the 31st, at 5:53pm, a little over an hour to closing.

Hooray: I’m able to reduce from 34 minutes to 27 minutes in 1,000 yard of swim.
Ok … truth be told, only because I’ve more use of limbs – not yet 100% but most of them anyway. I still can’t kick full force so, there is still some tiny room to improve.
This morning, I was able to do the flip turns but won’t kick too hard.

He also wrote about the Belgium player Justine Henin’s hand job at 2003 French Open. (reporting on the case, from Tennis and Greg Couch @ 4:25 mark.) Henin did put her hand up and caused Serena to miss her first serve but the chair umpire didn’t see the hand job, denied Serena’s first serve. At that point, Serena was leading … but ended up losing the match. (Head to head, Williams leads 8-6.) Very, very unsportsmanship.

For 3 days, July 15-17, the pool that usually closes at 7pm, extended an extra hour, closing at 8pm. How did I find out? When I left at 6:50 and there were still a few swimmers in the pool, so I asked.
“Because of the heat wave, we’re closing an hour later.”
What’s the point when no one knew?
“How do we find out?” IF I weren’t there? “Call 311,” the lady manager who also cleans the bathroom, said, “we were told in the morning, to open late today.”
Who would know to call 311 to find if a pool will extend its opening hour???
On Saturday, I called 311 and was told, yes, it opens till 8pm.
Goose (or geese) is main stay in our area. They walk leisurely and poop all over the place.
Recently, I noticed a little change in the active wear industry: they showcase the fatso next to the perfect bodied models.
Isn’t this something to celebrate?
Let’s face it : how many of us has the perfect body?

The summer is here and the day campers for swimming and tennis are coming to Whitney Pond Park.
Coco Gauff (2004-; 2018) advanced to Wimbledon 2021’s third round. I watched her wild run at US Open in 2019, when she was only 15 and reached 3rd round. It was a night game and we went all out for her.
When she was young (and little), she always reminds me of Degas’ Little Dancer. This ballerina 3⃣️ is the one at The National Gallery of Art in DC.
